Our client, the world’s leading providers of advisory, consulting and expert services for the construction, manufacturing, process and technology industries, is looking to continue the growth of their Canadian business by recruiting a Senior Accountant to be based in Toronto.   If you are a collaborative team player looking for your next challenge, we look forward to receiving your application.

We are seeking an experienced Accountant to support the Corporate Finance Team and your responsibilities will include:

  • Prepare and record month-end general ledger entries in accordance with GAAP.
  • Analyze financial statements for discrepancies and other issues that should be brought to the Controller’s attention.
  • Review inter-company transactions and generate reports as necessary.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts.
  • Assist with fixed asset processing, reporting and audits.
  • Prepare financial and profitability analysis, specifically gross margin reports.
  • Assist with the month-end financial statements and close process.
  • Prepare cash flow analysis, projections and various ad hoc reports requested by management.
  • Prepare monthly reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts, both domestic and international as needed.
  • Maintain Deferred Revenue schedules and record monthly-recognized revenue journal entries.
  • Assist with annual audit and prepare documentation for external auditors.
  • Prepare journal entries, monthly, and year-end closings.
  • Prepare bank reconciliations.
  • Complete internal reporting during the monthly close.
  • Maintain fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation.
  • Reconciliation of assigned monthly general ledger accounts.
  • Aid in preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Aid in weekly preparation of cash flow reporting
  • Support Controller in annual budget preparation
  • Daily maintenance of cash balances
  • Daily maintenance of AR cash receipts and miscellaneous cash receipts
  • Maintain balance sheet schedules including Prepaid and Accruals.
  • Review of Accounts Payable and Purchase Receipt transactions for accuracy.
  • Maintain Fixed Asset and Depreciation Schedules.
  • Complete Miscellaneous Financial Projects, as necessary.
  • Focus on tax compliance, and state business registrations.

 

Skills and qualifications :

 

  • 8-10 years’ experience.
  • Master's Degree.
  • Fluently bilingual (French).
  • Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Knowledge of Statutory accounting principles.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Experience with Deltek a plus.
  • Highly detail-oriented and organized.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with different levels of employees.
  • Ability to establish and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of professional services business would be an advantage.
