This role calls for a Civil Engineer, with solid experience with roofing or other building envelope solutions and an expertise in AutoCAD. A team spirit, ability to self-manage, and a diligent work ethic are mandatory for a successful applicant.

The details of the role:

  • Provide the internal sales team, clients, installers and contractors with technical advice and support.
  • Phone/email support to customers across the world, specifically North America, Europe and Latin America.
  • Drafting of specifications in AutoCAD, finding solutions and providing recommendations.
  • Oversee each project’s life cycle from conception to completion, with an emphasis on technical soundness and resource efficiency.
  • Mindful of labilities incurred, implications of each project and potential hurdles.
  • Adjust design as required during the project in collaboration with the client, contractor or installer.
  • Interface with fabrication and technical field personnel.
  • Develop and revise statements of work, which should include accurate time and cost estimates.
  • Analyze user requirements and usability metrics to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Active participation in the creation of Technical Literature and Marketing materials.
  • Occasional international travel, for which a level of maturity and communication skills is essential

Skills and qualifications :


  • A Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferably Civil or Building Sciences.
  • 5 years’ experience in building envelope design, ideally with a strong interest in roofing and waterproofing.
  • Eligible for or a holder of a Professional Engineering License in Ontario.
  • High proficiency in computer skills including AutoCAD is a must.
  • Ability to present technical material to other industry professionals at seminars, trade shows and in sales presentations.
  • Fluent in English, a second language particularly French or Spanish a strong asset.
  • Can be domestically and / or globally mobile; 10% to 30% of work time may be spent on travel.
  • Vehicle / Driver’s License a requirement.
  • A valid Canadian Passport is a requirement.
  • Must be willing to maintain a professional business appearance in accordance with client’s dress policy at all times.
